Theories about the Stranger Things grand finale keep on coming up. Everyone is curious about how they are to end everything that began on November 6, 1983, in the fictional town of Hawkins, giving birth to what we call the Upside Down. And now, The Abyss, as Dustin explained to everyone in Season 5.

The era of Stranger Things as we know it came to an end on New Year’s Day. But, as we know all too well, shows that are too successful to end go the route of spinoffs, and Stranger Things is no exception. Outside of its animated series, the Duffer Brothers have shed the tiniest bit of light on what their show’s spin-off will center on.

In the high school graduation scene, Dustin delivers the valedictorian speech and at the end, you give Principal Higgins the finger at the end. A lot of fans have picked up on that as a callback to something Joseph Quinn says as Eddie in season 4. Was that an intentional reference?

Gaten Matarazzo, who plays fan-favorite Dustin Henderson, said he was "taken aback" by how much he realized the "Stranger Things" finale made sense.

As per the interview with the Stranger Things creators, Steve wasn't the only prominent character set to be killed off in the series' narrative, with David Harbour's Jim Hopper also originally slated to die at the end of season three.

There are also three character-focused novels: Brenna Yovanoff’s Runaway Max, about Sadie Sink’s character Max Mayfield; A. R. Capetta’s Rebel Robin, a prequel about Maya Hawke’s Robin Buckley; and J.L. D'Amato’s The Dustin Experiment, which focuses on the character played by Gaten Matarazzo during his freshman year.
